The St. Andrew’s Parents Association (SAPA)
Every parent and guardian of every child who attends St Andrew’s National School is very welcome to join SAPA.
The parents’ association, which has been in existence since 1974, is a great place to meet other parents and guardians and help raise funds and provide support in a variety of different ways each school year.
Research suggests that when parents are involved in their children's education - children flourish and many lasting friendships have also been forged thanks to the great camaraderie that exists within SAPA.
Each school year SAPA organises a calendar of fun events, for both parents and children, which directly benefits every child who attends St. Andrew’s.
Events such as the children’s Halloween Disco and the parents’ Quiz Night have become an annual highlight and are generously supported by families and friends of St Andrew's.
Each term SAPA also organises cake sales and non-uniform days and co-ordinates the sale of Christmas cards designed by each child which not only inject an element of fun into every day school life but also raise funds which are earmarked to finance particular projects in specific terms.
The funds raised by SAPA also enable St. Andrews to engage children in extra curricular activities from nature lessons to the fun fitness projects and healthy eating initiatives such as the “Fruity Fridays”.
The parents association consists of a committee of enthusiastic volunteers - which changes each school year - who work collectively to ensure that every child who attends St Andrew’s has the best possible experience of early school life.
